Settle in guys, this ones a biggie. I didn’t even realise how many palettes I actually own until I was staring at them all piled up on my desk. I started off being nice but ended being a bit cut-throat with what I was actually using/not using. I let go of a few expensive products that I was keeping solely because I’d spent a lot of money on them, and I also let go a few cheaper products I kept saying I was going to get around to using but never did. My drawer looks soo much better now, plenty of room to grow and move things around which is perfect when I’ve got a couple of palettes on their way to me…
Also – I’m sorry some of the photos are a bit confusing, I ended up getting rid of more mid-photo taking but I’ll get into that.
My two Z-palettes are definitely staying, the left one contains all Makeup Geek plus one Makeup Forever pan, and the right contains all Colour Pop. I don’t use these as much as I should but I plan on rotating my palettes around now so they all feel the love equally.
I started off keeping these four palettes: two from BYS, The Balm Nudes and a Models Own one. However when putting them back in my drawer I realised I have only used the BYS ones once each in the months I’ve owned them so decided to pass them on to someone who will appreciate them more than me.
Other palettes i’m keeping are all these little ones, some stand outs for me are the Becca x Jaclyn Hill (who remembers that debacle? I was lucky enough to get one of the good ones!) and the Wet n Wild ‘Walking on Eggshells’ trio (this was HUGE in the beauty community a few years back). The rest are all relatively new to me and I am still playing with.
Two bigger palettes I’m keeping are the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill and the Mecca Max palette. These two I use pretty frequently! Also in my frequently used and therefore keep pile are the Ciate x Chloe Morello 1, Tartelette and Kylie Cosmetics Bronze palette.
What’s that? All the palettes I’m keeping look the same? I don’t know what you’re on about…
As for face palettes I’m keeping, this was a lot easier for me than eyeshadow palettes as I’m a creature of habit here. The Kat Von D shade and light, and the Revlon x Chloe Morello are my most used and I’ve hit pan on both. The Natio and the Charlotte Tilbury are also big faves for me, and then the BYS mini kit is a newbie I am yet to try it out!
As for face and eye palettes I’m getting rid of, the ones I’m having the hardest time parting with are my more expensive ones. I think we can all get stuck in the trap of keeping things just because we spent a chunk of money on them, but I am planning on selling them and re-investing the money on something that won’t go to waste in my drawer just looking pretty!
Side note – I think so far this is my most visually appealing blog post….does anyone else find open palettes super appealing?
Start: 35 palettes
End: 19 palettes
